I think most fans know what to expect this year Rock

I am astonished at the frustration some posters feel, and some media express over the Rams.

Over and over it has been explained that this is what we should expect. This team is reloading with young players....rookies and 2nd year guys. the goal is to develop these guys. We know we're short on talent in a couple of spots. Can't be fixed this year because of cap issues. However, this is a one year situation. The Rams took the big hit on cap this year to clear the way for 2024.

Instead of being frustrated, have fun with watching our young guys develop. Get excited over the potential when the pieces work well together, and understand when they don't. Don't go into a game with all your emotions set that the Rams will/should win, and have a big letdown when they don't.

Enjoy! It ought to be like watching your kids develop and learn to play sports. There will be a step forward one day, and a half-step backward the next. It's normal, but it's still fun to watch them grow.

But that shouldn't change expectations in games that we still should win even with all that young developing talent.

For example, McVay, IMO, has directly been responsible for 2 losses and not that young developing talent.

Against the Bengals, IMO, it was McVay's not running the ball that was the biggest contributor to that loss. It was a game that was winnable even with all the "kids" playing.

Last week against the Steelers, IMO, McVay was a big reason we lost that game that could've/should've been won even with all that young developing talent playing.

IMO, attempting those long FG's while everyone could see your kicker was struggling was not a wise move. It set up the Steelers with great field position each time making the game easier for them.

My choice would have been to punt and pin them deep and let our defense do it's thing. Pittsburg hasn't been good on offense all year. To beat us, they would need shorter fields and TO's and we gave them just that. It didn't help that the Ref's were helping the either. lol

Also, calling an empty backfield play at the start of the second half while the run game was working well was another not so wise decision. Yes, Stafford through the ball but that was a horrible play call IMO and had nothing to do with any of the young talent. A pass play should not even have been called in the first place allowing Stafford to throw that pick.

My "expectations" for the young kids is what it is. I expect growing pains and tough times from them. Not McVay and our coaches.

IMO, regardless of what we were "told" about rebuilding, I think it's still fair to expect us to win games that we are in a position to win.

Having said all that, I am ok with where we are due to the fact that many of our young kids are playing very well and above some people's expectations. I am enjoying seeing these kids over achieve and will continue to enjoy that and not get too worked up over mistakes that they will make.

It's just frustrating knowing we could/should be 5-2 right now even with all that inexperienced talent. IMO, our losses are more on the coaches than the new guys.

It's been a fun year for me so far. It could have even better with some smarter decisions from our coaches and older players too.

Understanding that this is a "rebuilding" year, I am encouraged seeing what I am seeing and think we are on the right track. If we can make the right moves during the off season and draft, we should be a playoff team next year! beer cheer smiley

#HelmetHornsMatter

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.

“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
