The game is football. Not running fast in shorts and tracks shoes. Not high jumping. Not broad jumping.
Of course honest weight, height, strength, etc. plays a role and the Combine can find that out. As does medical eval and personality/character/temperament play an important role.
But, just as for the reason Kupp was downgraded (a "slow" 40 time for the position), but his incredible football ability was kicked to the curb, it seems to be the same for Nacua (thank God, so that the Rams could get him in the 5th round). Aaron Donald was not taken until the 11th pick because he was "too small" for an NFL DT. On and on it goes. While some of the great athletes and Combine winners taken high go on to flounder in the NFL or are just ordinary.
If the draft were held again today, I suspect Nacua would be a top 10 pick and/or the first WR taken. He is the next Cooper Kupp.
