Didn’t the Rams just move Ramsey in a salary cap dump strategy? So now why get Surtain?
Are Rams really unhappy with their CB situation? Witherspoon is exceeding expectations and Durant is highly regarded. Personally, I like Tomlinson to replace Kendrick soon. That’s a fine trio at CB so why gild the Lilly with Surtain with his cost in picks and soon to be salary?
Rams really biggest needs are elsewhere. Specifically at Edge, QB, and possibly on OL at LOT, RG, or C. Then there’s TE, DL, RB, and possibly WR upon Jefferson’s departure. Point being that our premium draft picks are already spoken for. This team can be completed next offseason if Snead keeps his powder dry this year on big moves.
Between our draft picks and $50M in new cap space next year I believe that Snead/McVay can field an extremely competitive team next year. A team that could be included in SB conversations.
Fuhgeddaboudit when it comes to talk about Taylor and Surtain for this year. Best that Rams focus on the long game strategy, imo.
