If Vegas set the point spread correctly they really don't care who wins the game. Their only objective is to try to get the betting money to split evenly between the two team: Vegas sets the initial spread expecting that to happen and will only move the spread if the money starts to fall unevenly on one team or the other.
Since the spread pretty much remained constant at 7.5 I am willing to assume that the money fell fairy evenly. And if that's the case Vegas would make just as much money from the Rams covering as they would have if the 49ers covered.
