The Rams were KILLING IT with the run vs Tampa, in the reg season game in L.A. Rams had total control and domination of the game and then....POOF!! McVay goes into pass happy mode. We won but the difference in strategy was obvious. Just LAST year....We were killing the Falcons in the first half and then POOF! Out comes some 3 pass n punt "drives"...Gave Atlanta TONS of extra time and possessions in the 2nd half. Another game that turned WAAAY to close.
ALSO.............WHEN IN THE HELL is McVay ever gonna realize that when we run, it opens up his play book for big plays. Look at the TG III in his PRIME years and leave it at that. Buuuuut...Even with TG III, we were WAY too pass happy.
I have said it 126 times this past off season. We have the Players to run an Offense very much like those early 80s Redskins teams. We have flashy players to get the home run ball and the ability to grind out the clock for the win. McVay INSISTS on making it difficult , too often.
