What I'm getting at is wondering how far up in standing McVay would be elevated should that happen. (NOT can the Rams make the playoffs this year). Teams HAVE been projected as badly and done just that... made the playoffs. I'm NOT sure if a team projected to struggle as much as the Ram's this year have made the playoffs WITH a HC as highly touted as McVay currently is having been to two recent SB's, winning one.
Like I said, haven't thought it through... but shooting from the hip I think it would put him in the Bellichick category. Maybe?
