(On his confidence in the run game)
“I think you got to go do it, but there's been a lot of confidence that these guys
have earned based on what we've done up to this point and that's all we've
really done and that's been offseason program, training camp. We've had four
competitive opportunities against other teams. We've had a few preseason
games where some guys have gotten reps. We haven't seen anything reflective
of the group that we're going to see play collectively on Sunday, but I think the
guys have positively pushed one another. What I really have enjoyed about this
camp is we've been able to compete and push each other more than what it
feels like we've done in previous years and there's a lot of layers to that. But I'm
excited to watch these guys go do it and that's what it's about. I think they've
earned the confidence. I think they know what a challenge it's going to be
against a great opponent, well-coached. They've got great players on all three
sides of the football and it's going to be a great atmosphere. So I think until we
go do it, but I would say I am confident, but until we end up getting there and
those guys know that I'm confident in them and I believe they've earned the
right to be confident and go play with a quieted mind, go shoot your shot, and
then we'll see what happens when we kick this thing off on Sunday.”
Maybe if he would've played them more during the preseason he would have a better idea of what to expect.
I think this was the year we should have changed our preseason strategy due to all the youth and inexperience and continuity. JMO
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
