First, l must say that Siciliano has said that he thinks that Rams genuinely feel that Boom is among their best 5 OL players, so there is that. I disagree because I’ve not seen the evidence, but what do I know?

But here’s my opinion of Rams options and in this order.

1. Start Anchrum at RG. He’s certainly earned it. Keep Boom as swing OT for at least this year. This is by far the best option currently.

2. Trade Boom for whatever they can get and rely on some combination of Arcturi, McClendon, or Thomas to be swing OT.

3. Starting Boom at RG would be a mistake for several reasons. He hasn’t earned it and everyone knows it, especially Anchrum. He’s not proven to be better than Anchrum on the field. Would be terrible for morale.

4. Cutting Boom would make zero sense. He still has value as a swing OT plus there may be cap issues if he’s cut this year.

So, the Boom ‘problem’ is not really a problem after all.

The Rams have a Joe Noteboom problem. How should they move forward?
