The only two things that matter is health and evaluation. Half the players are going to cut after this hour of football. Making sure we keep the best half moving forward is critical. Also, the young players who would be our backups need to stay healthy and get done experience as injuries during the real games will occur.
Also, our brain trust must correctly figure our injury designations, practice squad assignments, signing guys cut from other teams and possibly signing yet unsigned free agents if we need them.
McVay doesn't play his starters or even key backups. He runs vanilla plays and keeps the good stuff under wraps for the real deal.
Worrying about the score makes little sense to me. Many of these guys will be out of football in a week. I think these games are fun to watch as I like to follow the draft and see these college grads compete for a job. I'm a sucker for the combine. It all makes sense. In a mucho loco sort of viewpoint.
