Why are Rams straining to start Boom at RG while Anchrum has been playing well there?
One possible explanation: as well as Anchrum has been playing Noteboom has been playing even better.
If the team is sticking to the "best 5" scenario maybe Boom is in the club. And assuming he is and also assuming Jackson is the best option at LT what would you want the Rams to do? (And I know Boom's injury history, but if he is truly one of the "best 5" I can't see benching him just so he doesn't get hurt again.)
Well, if Boom is the best available RG then I’m all for it, of course.
But where is the evidence of that? AJ obviously beat him out at LOT, and Anchrum has been playing very well at RG according to PFF and beat reporters alike. Moreover, Boom can’t stay healthy enough to compete even in controlled practices and scrimmages.
Is there any wonder that some are skeptical about which player is most qualified for starting RG? Or why McVay is frustrated and testy in pressers?
