I think we could see the Rams keep 6 or even 7 WRs, but only 3 TE with a PS TE. Why? Because Skow can run TE routes, and block adequately on some run plays from the TE position. And because I think the Rams have 6 or 7 good WRs compared to 1 or 2 good TEs. The 3rd TE spot is sub-standard, and the 4th? Be serious. I think Skow brings more as a TE/WR hybrid than any 4th TE currently on our roster.
That said, I think that position is not yet decided; I fully expect some cut vet to be added on the cheap as TE 3.
I'm not yet convinced that Anchrum has won the RG spot although I give him about a 60% chance.
The D is going to be hurting in the DE/OLB spot. Although I'm not as concerned as I was about the D-line in general. DE/OLB is another spot where a late preseason cut might be brought in on the cheap to bolster it.
I also think that it is entirely possible that we'll see JJIII as a starting Safety, or at the least the dime Safety. I can't imagine that at 27 years old he is washed up.
That said, I think McVay may well opt to play the younger guys who he thinks can pick it up as the year goes on, as opposed to older journeyman vets who will be better at the first of the season because of their experience.
