Slater was definitely a development pick by a very good team that had a great line. Came from a small school with all world RB.
Cappeletti was a decent player not worthy of a first round pick. So he was a bust as a first rounder. Very average player in NFL.
and Cappy, that is why fans today would be all over him...IMO
Slater, given a little slack today. but a 3rd rounder---same round as Noteboom, Bruss, Evans...though yeah, Jackson State was small school
Today, McSnead would be killed for a developmental guy so high ... he'd be someone who was thought to be big, fast, a "talent" guy who was raw.
