I agree he's gone this offseason regardless. Or he should be. I don't think he's a guy I would want to pay. Just seems too fragile, too good a dude, almost too nice for this league.
But make no mistake: he is central to their plans in 2023. They would move him of course, but it would take the kind of offer nobody would give us for a guy like him. So his value to us is greater than his potential value to other teams.
Now if he ends up disappointing and not providing WR2 level production for us early in the season then yeah I could see us flipping him for peanuts. But I don't think that's gonna happen. I really do have high expectations from him this year. I think this is the year to give him the benefit of the doubt in fact, at least for the early going, and get him rolling in this offense.
