1972—Rams acquire John Williams from the Colts for 1974 #1 Draft pick (#24 overall) Roger Carr.

John Williams: (1/23/1968-Colts out of Minnesota)…played in two Super Bowls with Baltimore as a guard…traded to the Rams on this day in 1972…he became a starter at RT in 1973 and started 86 consecutive games through 1978…during the 1979 season he lost his job to Jackie Slater and then tore a calf muscle…and missed the rest of the season….after his career he became a dentist and passed away in 2012…
