Generally I'd be fine with getting Goff again depending on price and if he's to be a back-up or starter. He's proven he has the arm and the skill to get a team to a SB when he's on a strong team with a solid O Line. Three concerns exist:
1) Will he prove that he's a solid enough QB to get a team to the playoffs when he doesn't have a superior Oline and receiving threats? This season seems to be a good fit to find out just how good Goff is in less than ideal conditions.
2) Does he have the mental ability to handle McVay's pressure? In my opinion his last season with the Rams was poor mostly in part to the way McVay coached him. We know that McVay has been working on maturing and improving himself. We know that Goff has flourished in Detroit's system with their new QB coach. Can McVay and Goff work well together on actual football now?
3) Bad memories. Goff's last season with us was messy. Are there lingering resentments that would hinder their relationship and performance? I'm not so sure that things are really good between them now.

I really like Goff and I want him to succeed. But getting rid of him was the best move given McVay's and Goff's limitations. Has there been enough growth and maturity for both of them, or, if it didn't work then why expect it to work now?
