Expectations.
He was a freshman AA, and all conference freshman and sophomore years ...
But he didn't really improve. Tristan Wirfs came in and played the right side ... His play improved greatly and he came out as a junior.
When Jackson saw that, and saw that his draft grade was poor, he changed a lot. He went Vegan to get his body under control and got really disciplined.
But the expectation is that he was going to be a top ten pick as a junior ... so he's disappointed all the guys scouting him. Looks soft. Uninspired.
But he did a great job with his focus and body his senior year and really transformed it and played stronger and tougher.
There were covid complications ... 2020 season going into the 21 draft ... scouts didn't really get to see him "changed" ...
That's the only thing I can think.
Way more info than I knew previously about him. What a cool story!
I'm not sure if not getting drafted means he can't still become a really good LT. I am anxious to see him this preseason and see if he's improved even more from last year.
I think we will all know more about our OL once the preseason starts. May the best men win!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
