Apparently Carroll Rosenbloom loved Pat Haden because of watching him with all the USC games he was able to attend. IMO, Haden was the worst option from Harris & Jaworski. Harris had all the tools, but at times, he was very inconsistent. Jaws also offered more then Haden, but for some reason GM Don Klosterman, who drafted Jaworski over Dan Foutes for example, felt Jaws was not very accurate. Haden was beloved by CR, thus led to both Harris & Jaworski going elsewhere in 1977 & Joe Willie Namath being brought in, even though Namath did not have a leg to stand on.
IMO, Knox liked Harris, I think the Staff preferred Jaworski especially in 1975, but I liked Harris over Haden and I actually wish the Rams never drafted Haden, who they got in the 7th round in 1975, thus would of had to fully commit to either Harris or Jaworski, who IMO, were far better options then Napoléon 2.0.
I remember those years very well! Nice post!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
