So something is gonna fall by the wayside no matter what you do. I probably ran a hundred mock drafts on the websites and could not come up with a complete roster with any of them without taking ridiculous trades that would never happen.
Offense they could have went OL late as per usual and RB and probably that was the plan if their Edge choice would have been there. They even tried to move up for an Edge and TE and admitted at their presser there were a couple move-up targets that failed. But the draft went a different way and they were sitting there looking at a load of OL options and took the one they liked.
Once that happened they still gotta drop down and get volume. So they went after the Edge options which were stronger in depth than Corner. Stacking the defensive front was the priority for sure either way and they're still short even now at 1T. We need a run game anchor.
I think there could have been other ways to go that give us a better front overall on defense. But it's easy to criticize and hindsight them. Right now our secondary is weak and it's gonna remain that way. We're gonna be relying on guys to step up like Rochell. Our safeties are middling at best, but weak is probably a better description.
What should be up next is a 1T signing. If they can do that and get teams into 3rd and long then maybe our secondary can finish middle the pack. That would make this team good enough to factor in a bit. Still won't be a playoff favorite but maybe we can be a wildcard level team.
