I think with his run blocking ability and also the shorter term, bigger need being LG that would be his ideal spot for 2023.
Also consider that centers need to be able to make the line calls and that is a lot for a rookie to digest. Playing next to Shelton and or Allen could make that eventual transition much easier later. Though I still think settling him in at LG and just keeping him there is a great option.
Well, Avila took over a thousand snaps at OC in college, presumably making line calls, and performed there beautifully.
OC is our weakest link on OL currently and that’s why I advocate starting Avila there.
But there is no ‘wrong’ position to start Avila when all is said and done.
