Yeah I noticed this pattern of getting late starters who bloomed quickly.
I think they are looking for guys with a upward trajectory, in other words, seems like they put that in the equation to say find guys we can get in lower rounds that would have been in higher rounds with another year of play. Let's get them for their breakout year where they would become a day one pick. I think this might the strategy. Draw the graph and plot out where they would be regardless. Throw in a full time focus with pro equipment, staff, coaching, and players and hope that graph spikes. Then have a decent starter at the beginning of the year and a good to great starter by the end of the year. This plays in to being competitive this year but really going for it in 2024.
