Stafford was 2 for 2 with concussions on his last two starts......He is older and getting older. Rams ARE gonna be looking for a new / young QB in the very near future. Better have an O line worth half a crap to develop that QB.
Several things, gator.
1. A healthy Rams OL like the following is probably good enough (emphasis ‘healthy’):
Boom
Jackson
Shelton
Anchrum/Bruss
Hav
2. The best intersection of value/need at 36 and 69 is probably Edge/CB in some order. NOT OL.
3. More highly rated players will be sitting there at 77 than any remaining OL player. It’s a numbers game thing. Such as:
TE (my preference here)
RB
WR
DL
S
Another CB
Another Edge
4. A likely trade down could further shuffle remaining priorities, of course.
I do believe that they will draft a development OL player, probably an IOL player, later in the draft but it will surely be on Day 3 and he will not be able to beat out Shelton this year barring incredible luck on Snead’s part. The Creed Humphrey fiasco is gonna sting again this year.
I’m afraid that substantial upgrades on this current OL won’t occur until the ‘24 offseason either through FA or the draft. Sorry.
