It wasn't that there was no talent along the OL it's that we kept getting injuries and they never got to play together. Noteboom has been groomed for the LT job for many years and performed well when filling in. The expectations for him were high. Many predicted he'd upgrade the position
By replacing the 40 year old Whit. But, he got hurt. Edwards was a decent OG for two SB runs but got hurt. He's now gone. Jackson was a revelation playing well everywhere, but he got blood clots. Allen, hurt. Bruss was drafted to be our RG. Much celebration after stealing him including our guy jumping fully clothed into a pool. Hurt in PS. Ancrum, stud at Clemson, was always thought highly of and moved to guard got hurt in his first ever play as a starter. Havs played well and every game at RT. We lost all our depth. Nseche played well at LT, Skura played well at guard and our line held up for the last few games. Suddenly Akers was a hundred yard back again. Edwards is out but we can bring every other player back and might be okay to better than okay. Right now we need a backup QB or 2, a kicker, a punter, a snapper, a returner. We need several secondary players.
We need an edge or two. We need a LB or 3.
A WR, a RB or 2, a TE or 2. Sure center could use an upgrade, but we have two guys there that can play the position. If Stafford goes down the first play of the season who comes in? There's nobody holding the clipboard.
If we score a TD that first play, who kicks the extra point? If we go 3 and out, who is snapping to who is punting?
