It’s not sexy and we all know how McVay craves his shiny new toys on O every year, but a dominant OC is the gateway to allowing this O to be all that it can be.
Our own esteemed Dead is concerned that the dominant OC’s will be gone by 36 and maybe he’s right. But, if true, what does that tell you about how other teams value the position?
Allen simply can’t stay on the field and he’s only ‘pretty good’ when he is. Shelton, at best, is a place holder until Rams get their dominant OC. Once that occurs then Stafford and every RB, TE, and WR benefits for the next 10 years.
So, despite our many needs, I would snag the best dominant OC that falls to Rams pick. Rome wasn’t built in a day but a great OC is a helluva building block. Fingers crossed that a stud falls to us this year.
Yeah, I’m still pissed about that Creed Humphrey fiasco. Hopefully, McVay has learned his lesson.
