Just prior to the draft the team gets an idea where the current roster is in their rehab, or development, and how that illuminates (somewhat) their needs, and retention. It goes very quickly. Some of this is already decided due to the long hours already used to assess.
But it always seems like a rash of evaluations happen just as the draft comes up.
So, for me, it doesn't help things if you're roster is kind of at half staff
I'm not whimpering about it; But it does pose a new set of challenges for the coaches if your clubhouse is all new faces.
