Last year everybody was in crisis mode - what player development took place, if any, is hard to judge.

I suspect that there is a common theme running through the slow development we’ve been seeing from promising youngsters. Namely, inadequate coaching.
Hopefully, McVay’s 11 new assistants can help with that.
