Using this draft value trade chart [

I've always thought that you discount future draft picks one round for each year you go into the future. Then to assign a point value to the pick you use the middle of the discounted round. So a 1st in next year's draft equates to the average of the 16th & 17th picks in the 2nd round of this years draft (425 points) and a 2nd in next years draft equates to a middle 3rd this year (193 points).
Panthers get the #1 pick in the 2023 draft: 3,000 points.
And the Bears get:
2023 9th overall pick: 1,350 points
2023 61st overall pick: 292 points
2024 1st rounder: 440 points
2025 2nd rounder: 193
Total point value is 2,275 points ... 725 points shy of being even. That's basically the 25th pick of the first round. Is that what DJ Moore is worth? Or did Carolina pay a premium to beat out other contenders for that #1 pick?
