I mean if someone wants to puff up a dude who had a decent half of a season--by all means
but he's been a Chief two seasons...he's overated - a starter caliber--but not a Pro Bowler and not
worth signing...you don't give left tackle money to a guy who's a right tackle who struggles
against good competition and had a half a good year.

after 2021 season
Brown Jr. fell outside the top-10 ranking for offensive tackles, but he was the first player discussed in their section of honorable mentions. NFL executives seem torn on his ability at the left tackle position and they shared some critical evaluations of his play.
“Against average competition, he’ll dominate,” an anonymous NFL personnel director told ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler.
“Against good competition, he doesn’t look good. He’s big, not super athletic. Finds a way most weeks.”
Finding a way simply isn’t going to cut it for a player that wants to be the highest paid at his position. ESPN found that Brown Jr. excelled in run-block win rate, but failed to impress in pass-block win rate during his first full season at left tackle in 2021. Some NFL executives seem to be under the impression that he still belongs on the right side of the offensive line.
“To me, he’s a right tackle,” An anonymous high-ranking NFL exec told Fowler. “He’s a mauler, a little lazy in his play.”[

after 2022 season
In fact, the latter is what Pro Football Focus thinks will happen. They have Brown Jr. signing with the New England Patriots.
The Patriots are expected to let 2018 first-round pick tackle Isaiah Wynn walk in free agency after a tumultuous 2022 campaign, and Trent Brown is not a long-term solution at either tackle spot but can hypothetically slide back over to the right side. It’s possible the Chiefs place a second consecutive franchise tag on Brown and/or work out a multi-year deal, but Patrick Mahomes’ elite ability to not let pressures become sacks makes it unnecessary to make a top-of-market investment on the blindside.
Brown didn’t do much to change his perception this year; he is a good but not great tackle. New England has been aggressive in free agency in recent years and is desperate for help at the position, though.

But in the Chiefs' defense, Brown Jr. was solid, but not spectacular.
Per PFF, Brown Jr. tied for the league lead in allowed quarterback hits (12), he allowed the 14th-most sacks (4), allowed the seventh-most overall pressures (36), and finished 11th with an overall pass blocking efficiency mark of 97.2 among left tackles with at least 853 pass blocking snaps. He also tied for the ninth-most penalties committed (5).
It didn't get much better when Brown Jr. was in a true pass set, either. Brown Jr. still led the NFL in allowed quarterback hits (9), allowed the eighth-most sacks (4), and his pass blocking efficiency mark of 94.2 was seventh-worst among left tackles with at least 198 pass blocking snaps out of a true pass set.here are his full season hurries allowed and sacks allowed etc and playoffs--not just 7-cherry picked
games---what you'll see is nothing special. Better than some, worse than a lot of others
but no one worth breaking the bank over--
fans would treat him like the Chiefs
fans do --- because that is what fans do
