Players have to be willing to restructure their contracts if they want to stay under the cap. I think these high salaries stars were approached and told the Rams to shove it.
The Rams then need to either trade them away or cut them. Wagner is his own agent. He decided to join the defending champs to get a ring. He did his job but we went 5-12. He doesn't have many years left to make big money and win. So a mutual cutting. Floyd wasn't healthy to start last season and tried to play through it. When he got healthy he showed up as a very strong edge. He probably didn't want to restructure. He will be traded or cut. ARob shouldn't have been signed. And we paid him #1 money to be a #2. We know he's not worth that contract that he just signed. He won't restructure it. So he's gone. JR is a little blurry for me. Seems like he played hard every game. He was running all over the place trying to cover up a poor secondary while our D had no rush. He is still in his prime and probably worth his contract, but we can't afford him.
If they really trade him we are in a rebuild. Whether McSnead want to use the words or not.
"Bobby Wagner's total cash for 2022 was $6.5 million, only $1.5 million of which is base salary. The five-year, $50 million deal included a $5 million signing bonuses and $20 million in guarantees. He was set to make $11 million in total cash in 2023, 2024, and 2026, and $10.5 million in 2025."
Wags was being paid. Not sure how much more he could've gotten on another team. I guess we'll see.
Agreed on ARob. He was a bad signing or should I say a bad "fit"? His price makes this a bad signing so far!
As for Ramsey, do you really want to see him leave? Can you imagine how soft our defense will be without him? It seemed like Ramsey was the only guy Morris trusted. He was so afraid of the other talent not being good enough so he was afraid to run anything else other than the Charmin Shell.
How soft do you think Morris will have to play WITHOUT the only player he trusted? I don't want to find out! lol We'll see 10-15 yard cushions while only rushing 2 DL!
You can't get any softer than "Ultra Soft" can you??? lol But hey, that should still "prevent" any "explosive plays"!!!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
