It just goes to show you that trading back just to get "more" picks can backfire. At some point, the talent level decreases so much you are only able to select players that might not be the best fit or have the talent to even play in the NFL.
It's hard enough to make a "good" pick in the early rounds let alone in the 4th or 5th round. I didn't like all the trade backs then and I don't like it now either.
We need to get talent that has the best chance of helping us and the odds of that happening are better early on.
Was McVay suggesting these trade backs or was it Snead? Curious minds want to know!
Exactly. These tradeback scenarios are giving me the cold sweats, and we've been bitten too many times to get cute here. It was a little different when we were stacked, but we're not that team anymore. We need every premium pick we can get.
And Jalen for a second rounder? Please no. The guy is under contract, and we are in no way replacing him with a second rounder. Spare me the "great players who've been drafted in the second round" stories too. The last time we did that was Bruce.
