UFA kickers. Among those, only Eddy Pineiro had a better FG % than Gay in 2022. And maybe they'll have their eye on a kicker in the Draft. Who knows.
Same at punter. Dixon played well enough on his $1M deal that he's likely in line to earn more than double that in 2023. Do the Rams look at drafting a punter (Korsak)?
But Gay earned $2.54M in 2022 and is
absolutely in line for a raise. Over The Cap has his valuation at around $3.7M. Spotrac has it at $5.1M. The franchise tag number for kickers is $5.39M. Can the Rams afford even $3.7M? Maybe not. And maybe the Rams' comp. pick formula will dictate letting him go and getting a 2024 6th rounder or something in return.
But among Rams kickers with 80+ FG attempts he's #1 all-time with 92.5%. 4th in XP percentage.
