I am putting the top players from the other games here, as well as full list of the other games in following comments. Almost like I use this board to store my notes. Almost.
I'm going to mention again how much I like the 5th year options from covid ... these players are ready and mature. In general the juniors steal all the attention but the
perfection of craft that is possible for players just means this game is much more fun to watch.
Also, a note, where they used to justy show the practices, we barely get clips now because they're running that all through NFL plus. Just one of the changes Im gonna have to figure out.
When I note on players, it's likely going to be on the total week. Also I will make a note on every player unlike the other games because, odds are, I have intel, and if I don't there's a reason that likely needs mentioning. Also not going to put measurements unless there's some real surprise at weigh ins. Don't think there were many this year ... Though it should be noted here that Dawand Jones has the largest wingspan of any player ever measured at 89.5 inches, same as an NBA center that stands 7-3.
I was thinking of putting a dollar sign by guys that made money, but there's too many, so I'm going to just put it by those who made the most.
I'll do another mock this week, then one after the combine, then all my lists come out before the draft if you're looking for order of operations.
Another note so I don't have to repeat myself below. The DBs came out of nowhere for me this year. I had a few on my radar and there were some obvious ones ... but there is a lot of starting talent in this game, and I don't know if any are first round slotted yet.
National Team
Kentucky
Keidron Smith DB Liked him during the year seems like a 3rd-6th guy, but talented and likely to land a job. Did not see in game (could be because no one threw his way)
Boise State
JL Skinner DB He was a big hit during the week so I think he skipped the game (many did that, and honestly it makes for a better game)
California
Daniel Scott DB Liked him at Cal, he almost had a goal line pick ... I think I'm higher on him than most but there were very few things besides him to like about watching Cal. Bigger kid, smooth athlete.
Illinois
Sydney Brown DB Famed twin of Chase. Chase made more noise, but I think Sydney will have the better career. Again, a target.
Iowa
Riley Moss DB So this is one of those guys I have watched for years. Kid is a walk on because everywhere he was invited, he was told to switch to safety. This is a skin tone thing and some people are still gonna have that bias. I feel like he's a first round talent, and he's gonna run in the 4.3s as he's a track star. Likely won't go until the 3rd.
Iowa
Kaevon Merriweather DB Competent player, I have him as slower footed and a little late to the action, but a ST guy.
Maryland
Jakorian Bennett DB His teammate will go earlier, but don't underestimate the coaching at someschools, MD has been sending DBS to the NFL pretty consistently and they have a stable of WRs to practice against that is no joke.
Stanford
Kyu Blu Kelly DB A big name as a junior that had his attention dwindle ... honestly I need his timed speed but I feel like he got some positive attention this week.
USC
Mekhi Blackmon DB USC's best cover guy ... mid rounder that cold flourish in the right system, didn't see him in the game.
Illinois J
artavius Martin DB So I did not see him this week, BUT He and Witherspoon and Brown made up one of the best secondaries in college last year, think Cinci last year. He played kinda all over and could cover and hit.
Ohio State
Ronnie Hickman DB It's tough because Safeties on Ohio State don;t get tested much, see Fuller, so I know he's good, just need more info to see where to put him.
Arizona State
Nesta Jade Silvera DL Transfer kid IIRC, disruptive but likely a late pick.
Central Michigan
Thomas Incoom DL May not even get drafted in this class, 4-3 end or 3 tech rusher.
Clemson
KJ Henry DL Came in highly recruited at Clemson, had a great year, then battled injury, then Clemson just piled on at the position and he kinda got lost. I felt like he had a really good week but still may slide to the 3rd where he'd be solid value.
Coastal Carolina
Jerrod Clark DL Big kid, 345 If Im not mistaken, and he was tough to move. During the game he was responsible for Schmitz' only bad rep as he jacked him back into Duggan as he was trying to hand the ball off, resulting in a fumble.
Georgia Tech
Keion White DL Top rated player, DNP in game, doesn;t have to, he was dominant during the week.
Northwestern
Adetomiwa Adebawore DL Late round rotational developmental.
Oklahoma State
Tyler Lacy DL Feel like he's not enough of any one thing to make a dent, didn't see him this week.
Wisconsin
Keeanu Benton DL Strong nose or 3 tech ... wins with hands and power ... but he's not elite. 4th round?
Louisville
Yaya Diaby DL Didn't see him much, he played heavy this year so I don;t have a real feel of his movement skills.
Notre Dame
Isaiah Foskey DL DNP game, had some good reps during the week, but ... not an array of pass rush moves. Mostly power with a little speed. Likely got passed by some others.
Bowling Green
Karl Brooks DL DNP in game ... this was a sleeper I had that got found. Bummer. He played 4-3 edge at 6-4 300 and could bend the corner ... I wanted him for a 5 tech.
Kansas
Lonnie Phelps Jr DL Undersized kid that had a really good week and game. If we end up going Schmitz round 2, Im making a list of edges that will get close to our 3rd pick, this is one.
Appalachian State
Nick Hampton LB Seemed to fade against better competition, but I wouldn't count him out.
Army
Andre Carter II LB Tough scout. So I'll likely watch some highlights, but it seems like he needs more weight room time. That said, he's disciplined, with good instincts, speed and he's gigantic. So likely his best football is at least a couple years away. NOt that he won;t make an impact as a rookie, I just think he'll get washed out of plays sometimes.
Indiana
Cam Jones LB Just a guy.
Oregon
DJ Johnson LB Had higher hopes for him coming in ... kinda disappeared.
Texas
DeMarvion Overshown LB DNP ... didn't need to, his tape is extensive.
Troy
Carlton Martial LB Most tackles in FBS history I think? Undersized LB (I mean 210) destined for ST.
Washington State
Daiyan Henley LB Kid had a great week and game... helped himself a lot, even if he'll have to break in on ST.
Cincinnati
Ivan Pace Jr LB Thumper that will be a high value pick, had a good week and game.
Virginia Military Institute Robert Soderholm LS N/A
Brigham Young
Blake Freeland OL Had a rough beginning to the week in 1:1s, but he had a solid game. I feel like he lacks strength and gets out of position lunging ...
Maryland
Jaelyn Duncan OL Real athlete ... might be able to go at OG now, needs a year before a possible move back outside ... I think he likely puts on a show at the combine and gets overdrafted.
Michigan
Ryan Hayes OL Ugh was bummed for him, he got really manhandled this week. Lack of strength and base.
Michigan
Olusegun Oluwatimi OL I have liked this kid a long time, over multiple teams. He's big but light on his feet, wide base but a smooth mover. I don't know if he fits our scheme, I'd bet he doesn't, but I'd likely have him as the #2 or 3 OC.
North Dakota State
Cody Mauch OL Looks like an OG or ORT, but he was a star of the show. Real personality and presence. Nasty streak.
Notre Dame
Jarrett Patterson OL Really wanted him to be better. He got manhandled, too.
Ohio State
Dawand Jones OL MOvement skills were better than expected, expect him to come off the first frame and have a career at ORT.
UT-Chattanooga
McClendon Curtis OL Need more tape. He popped off the screen a few times, but was also played out of position some.
North Carolina
Asim Richards OL I have liked him for years, and though no one was talking about him, he played OLT in the game, and had really solid reps in 1:1s ... no idea why he got the silent treatment.
Troy
Jake Andrews OL Seems like a backup at best. Jamil Demby type.
Shepherd
Joey Fisher OL DNP no eyes on him.
Maryland Chad Ryland PK
Michigan State Bryce Baringer PT
Brigham Young
Jaren Hall QB DNP, and I don't have him making an NFL roster.
Fresno State
Jake Haener QB $$ He's out of our backup range now. He may even get starter looks and jump into round 2 or 3.
Louisville
Malik Cunningham QB Did not have the best week or game. He may jusd be exhausted form all the different coaching. (He was at NFLPA too)
Appalachian State
Camerun Peoples RB Took him a while to acclimate in game, but he has a high top gear for a big fella and runs through guys on the second level. He's a target if he slides, which he likely will.
Illinois
Chase Brown RB I've been iffy on him but liked him more this week, especially catching the ball.
Texas
Roschon Johnson RB Broke his hand so DNP, but apparently the secret's out and he's gonna go before we'd take a RB. estimating 3rd round now.
Northwestern
Evan Hull RB Looked very smooth catching the ball and moved well, didn;t have the same luck at Northwestern because they were one dimensional.
Cincinnati
Josh Whyle TE He's 6-6.5 265 and can move... he's always been a good mover, but he put on 25 pounds. He got some attention and is on my TE list.
Clemson
Davis Allen TE He got a really high grade from DJ that I was surprised about. I mean I think he's solid, but in this class I have him as a sixth rounder.
Purdue
Payne Durham TE This is my target. Been eyeballing him since last year. He had a great week, but there is so much talent and he's likely TE10 in this class.
Cincinnati
Tre Tucker WR Kick return specialist.
Michigan
Ronnie Bell WR So ... I've been luke warm on him throughout his truly impressive career. He showed the kind of route skills and hands that would have me raising him a ways ... into the Amon Ra St. Brown area.
Michigan State
Jayden Reed WR Not a big fan, don;t know if he ever gets out of the 4th-5th WR slot ona team.
Stanford
Elijah Higgins WR He needs to work at TE, he's 230.
Stanford
Michael Wilson WR $$ Barely have notes on him, and he was called the best WR there.
Brigham Young
Puka Nacua WR See Ronnie Bell, basically the same.
Nebraska
Trey Palmer WR Tenn transfer ... meh.
Charlotte
Grant DuBose WR Never got to a spot for him to make plays. Need the combine to see his hands and such.
American teamAlabama
DeMarcco Hellams DB No field time, and see Hickman.
Florida State
Jammie Robinson DB I'm a fan of FSU DBs, and he's just another in line. Smaller, but nickel safeties are all the rage now.
Georgia
Christopher Smith II DB I expected him to have a better week. He may slide a ways.
Kansas State
Julius Brents DB Had a good week of practice, didn't see in game. K State makes good football players and he's 6-4 200 playing outside.
LSU
Jay Ward DB Didn;t really stand out, but wasn't bad.
Miami
Tyrique Stevenson DB Kid had a lot fo good reps during the week and in the game. ONe of a couple here that could jump into round 1.
Oregon State
Rejzohn Wright DB Had a decent wek, and he's a decent player, I just don't think he's great at any one thing.
South Alabama
Darrell Luter Jr. DB I like his tape during the year, didn't see him in the game. I'd target him later.
South Carolina
Darius Rush DB $$ Stepping out of the shadow of his teammate, he may have had the largest jump of any player. He didn't lose a rep. and at 6-2 196 he's in convo for round 1.
Virginia
Anthony Johnson DB Got a pick 6 in game. I like UV DBs ... I'd target him later also.
Virginia Tech
Chamarri Conner DB Only played a little ... but had a nice break up in the end zone. Don't know quite what to make of him.
Sacramento State
Marte Mapu DB Who? Where?
Alabama
DJ Dale DL Dale served as a benchmark of what average play is, if you took a rep off, he'd beat you up, if you stood firm you'd win it. He's a rotational guy.
Alabama
Byron Young DL
Auburn
Derick Hall DL I thought he didn't have the best week. Has some limitations.
LSU
Ali Gaye DL I wish he was faster around the edge.
Mississippi State
Cameron Young DL No noise this week, and not too much over his career.
Missouri
Isaiah McGuire DL See Byron Young below, not above.
Oklahoma
Jalen Redmond DL Made a couple plays, but still barely draftable.
Ole Miss
Tavius Robinson DL See above.
South Carolina
Zacch Pickens DL This is a more disruptive fella.
TCU Dylan Horton DL Again Byron Young below ... lol ... he didn't play in game though I don't think.
Tennessee Byron Young DL I missed his 1:1s, but Ive always liked him and am pulling for there being enough edge talent for us to draft one in the 3rd.
Auburn
Eku Leota LB Don't have much on him, didn't stand out.
Florida A&M
Isaiah Land LB Beefed up to 226 and tried to play inside after playing 4-3 edge at 210 in college. Made a play rushing the passer in the game.
Iowa State
Will McDonald IV LB $$ Jumped ahead of penty this week with his arsenal of moves, specifically a spin that is pretty textbook. He's in the conversation for 36 now.
Jackson St.
Aubrey Miller Jr. LB Had a good game, and I bet will make a team and take someone's job.
Pittsburgh
SirVocea Dennis LB Right now he's a cover LB and special package blitzer ... but there's a spot for him on plenty of teams and I have been watching him for years.
TCU
Dee Winters LB Will be underdrafted and will make an immediate impact. He had a good week, and I watched him all year, think Malcolm Rodriguez, except maybe quicker into the backfield.
Tulane
Dorian Williams LB See the above basically. Likely criminally underdrafted.
Central Florida Alex Ward LS
Alabama
Emil Ekiyor Jr. OL Didn't play much, but he's a late round body that I thought was stout for Bama.
Alabama
Tyler Steen OL Posible target, I like him inside at OG but he played OLT for Bama and held his own. Smooth mover, good feet, may lack a little length but I would likely rate him higher than he's showing now.
Florida
Richard Gouraige OL Needs a year of strength training, but Napier coaches mean O line, and he could be a diamond in the rough. Had okay reps.
Florida
O'Cyrus Torrence OL Followed him since freshman year, he was a big recruit for ULL. Basically what I expected career wise so far, 1st rounder conversation as a pure OG.
Minnesota
John Michael Schmitz OL Well, we've talked enough about him. I think he'll be gone. We'd have to trade up for him, likely into the first round, which I'd do if I could use a late pick this year or a pick next year ... or possibly Van Jefferson.
Oklahoma
Wanya Morris OL Another potential target OG for me with OT possibilities. Had a good week. Might be out of our range now.
Old Dominion
Nick Saldiveri OL He held his own honestly. I'll keep an eye for late round and UDFA. Played all over.
Ole Miss
Nick Broeker OL I like this pure OG is we get him late. Again, another I have four years of watching.
Syracuse
Matthew Bergeron OL Another target. Like his game, inside or out.
TCU
Steve Avila OL OG that has played OC that is tough to move.
Tennessee Darnell Wright OL Had a better week than I anticipated. Im gonna be watching him at the combine closer now.
Georgia
Warren McClendon Jr OL wait this wasn't McClendon from Clemson?
Georgia Jack Podlesny PK
Rutgers Adam Korsak PT
Houston
Clayton Tune QB Had a better week and game than I expected, still a backup at best.
Shepherd
Tyson Bagent QB Liked what I saw, he threw 2 late balls in the red zone that both should have been picked (1 was), but I liked his game, just needs some seasoning. Pure thrower.
Tennessee
Hendon Hooker QB Just in the interview process, and just got off of crutches ... was coaching kids up the entire week, totally participated, love to see that. Someone will realize that QBs play 10 years and draft him in the first I'd bet.
TCU
Max Duggan QB Saw him more than anyone else this year. He has my vote for 6th round backup.
Georgia
Kenny McIntosh RB The second rounds of RBs are starting to fill up with him close to the top. Curious to see if he goes before or after Charbonnet.
Kentucky
Chris Rodriguez Jr. RB Had a great catch in traffic and is simply a downhill hard runner.
Oklahoma
Eric Gray RB I thought his tape was better than his week.
Tulane
Tyjae Spears RB $$ Battle with rush for most status gained. So, first, he came in at 204, which is notable. Then he made some defenders look really stupid. Do not bet against this kid. He's not what I want but I can guarantee there are teams licking their chops.
Alabama
Cameron Latu TE One of my targets, sneaky fast, great hands, really smooth, and very aware. I'd bet someone reaches for him in the 2nd or 3rd because they just fell in love with him.
Miami Will Mallory TE I remember mentioning him early in the year and he was an afterthought. What we saw this week puts him on my target list right behind Durham.
Oklahoma
Brayden Willis TE In the right spot this guy will be amazing. Really more of an H Back, but fast with good hands.
Oregon State
Luke Musgrave TE Had a great week after coming in with buzz. 4 TEs could go in round 1.
TCU
Derius Davis WR Gadet return guy, didn't see him this week.
Houston
Nathaniel Dell WR Runs great routes and created a ton of separation. Makes tutu Atwell look thick.
Iowa State
Xavier Hutchinson WR Possession guy with a lot of reps, and contested catches. Don't bet against him, but he is likely a 5th rounder.
Ole Miss
Jonathan Mingo WR Might be compared too much to predecessors, but he's a talented kid I'd want to be the 3rd or fourth option.
SMU
Rashee Rice WR DNP in game, had some really good reps during the week. Likely solid as a second rounder, may sneak into the first.
South Alabama
Jalen Wayne WR Reggie's cousin. He rose for me quite a bit. Great hands, speed, and contested catches. I like him more than I liked Tolbert from the same school last year. Seems more pro ready.
Princeton
Andrei Iosivas WR Had a lot of close misses in game and practice, so I'll need to gather more intel at the combine. Definitely won some routes.
Virginia
Don'tayvion Wicks WR Again, wish I saw more 1:1 reps and he didn't show in game ... but we should likely take his 2021 #s because UVA circled the drain last year and Brennan Armstrong even transferred it was so bad.
Okay ... That's the Senior Bowl rundown. I'll put the other all star games with some added notes below somewhere (now Im going to ice my fingers)
Questions and comments welcome.
