I don't think that was the "Pro Bowl" though-if I remember right it was like the start of the pre-season and before the draft. I could easily be wrong but that's what I recall.
But I do remember the Pro-Bowl being meaningful and very competitive. Not sure I remember why it was but it was in my mind. AFC vs NFC-best players for each conference. Who would not want to see that. Of course then came all the money and the NFLPU and players weren't too excited about getting injured and playing all out and possibly getting hurt impacting their $$$$$ ability Hence today-well its a joke. The only way I see it is to forget about the SB and have a "real" Pro Bowl with the proceeds going to the winning side. Alas-that won't happen thanks to NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN, and what they charge for sponsorship of a SB. We football fans simply go along with whatever the Corporate networks serve us on a plate. We can't help ourselves and they know it.
