In no particular order:
Upgrade Allen at OC at a minimum. Drafting or adding a stud via FA at either LOT or OG/OC would be wise, too.
Fewer 11 sets. League D’s are now designed to shut them down.
More 12 sets. To do this will require bringing in at least one stud TE from FA or more likely the draft. The importance of this cannot be overstated. Great draft for this move.
New OC who has gravitas and will call plays.
Call more runs against weak run D teams and more passes against weak pass D teams. McVay was often doing the opposite in ‘22. Defies comprehension.
Take a hard and objective look at coaching for OL, TE, and WR. Do Rams currently have very best people getting very best results along with quick development at those positions? (This is a rhetorical question). Do NOT retain underperforming assistants just because they are good friends. Gotta be ruthless here.
Avoid the temptation of hiring ‘friends’ when selecting new asst coaches. Look for up and comers that seem like a good fit and seem like good teachers. THOSE are the types that brought success in 2017-2021. I’m straining to emphasize this ‘friends’ thing because I think McVay has this tendency of late.
The above would be a great start in recharging a formerly terrific O.
