Kingsbury took a one way flight to Thailand and isn't coming back any time soon after getting paid from Cardinals until 2027.

I don't get the hype for Reich? He had one top ten year in Indy but nothing special since the Super Bowl with Philly and runs a completely different system from what McVay runs.

LaFleur is a Shanny/McVay system guy and just makes sense to bring in a familiar face who knows the system inside and out

My fear is that LaFleur would be a ‘friends’ type hire and would lack the gravitas of a Reich. Someone that would have the stones to tell McVay when he started going off the rails.

McVay would still be calling the plays and the grind for McVay would remain the same as before.

Same situation as with Coen, just different name and face.

I’m still hoping that McVay was serious about making changes as he promised.

I still have problems with McVay’s seemingly total commitment to spread concepts. Reich definitely played in that system under Marv Levy. But that version was the Straight T compared to today.

The Rams need to win their division. The Niners are not a spread system team. You are what you practice and that goes not only for the offense but the defense too. A defense that practices against a spread offense throughout the week is not getting reps against a run-threat offense.

McVay needs to dip his toe into diversification. Get a coach who has some connection to slobberknocker football. They didn’t hand out participation trophies in Reich’s youth. Stop hiring millennials when the divisional rival plays a modified modern day version of 1970s football.

The reoccurring thought I had during this season is that McVay painted himself into a corner. He invested 100% into spread player personnel and when Buffalo and Dallas came in and bullied his offense, he had no answer. No run game and I put that on his choice of running backs. I realize Akers came back strong and he has shown he can run tough. Hernderson was a tough runner too. But they aren’t the type of backs you answer with when you need to wear an over aggressive defense down by running up their gut.

Rams need an OC who is outside of the box. At least some.
