IMO the thing with the Dragnet series was all about Jack Webb...his style was what made the show....they used actual cases for sure, but his stiff movements, his fast talking sequences and his side kick of course Morgan was the perfect sidekick for Jack's movements and speech patterns...Does this show have those type of characters?
I know there was a B/W version of this show as well in the early 1950's...much rarer of course, but I believe that was Webb's 1st version? He was also in a movie called The D.I.....played the Drill Sergeant...have it on DVD...got his fingers all over it...Definitely a cult like actor.
