I completely agree....

I do think that most of the great acting performances I've seen came from those smaller roles. Not all, obviously... some "Hollywood Good Looks" thespians are tremendously talented and have performed amazingly well. But if you reduce it to 'numbers' then yeah... by far the best I personally think were performed came from lesser roles, often character actors but not always.
