That some people just INSIST on you trying something THEY like - do they have low self esteem and need constant assurance, or something.. I'll bet UK would know the answer to that.. and, yeah, I get that with kids who just don't wanna try it..
But.. I HAVE tried shrimp.. several times.. despite not wanting to, but thought, "hey if I'm gonna take a stand, at least know what I'm standing on"..
I did NOT like it.. in any sense of the word.. Same goes for raw clams, or pretty much anything from the sea.. The smell of fish and me don't get along very well.. As I've said, I'd rather swim with them than eat them..
..and what about the taste? Honestly, shrimp has no taste, nor do clams, imo, but nasty textures.. its all the garbage people put on them to make them taste good - so why not just give me a spoon full of all the condiments and accessories you drown the shrimp in?
100% with you on gristle.. fat in steak is disgusting, gristle in anything means I ain't eating it and getting double or triple desserts..
