Way back when baseball went on strike for what? 6 out of 3 years? I got fed up. Had been a fan... decided to go on strike myself. Forgot about baseball... moved on. Never really got back into it... at least never as much. I did, however... slowly start following it again...
Today I watch an occasional game... getting 'into it' when the playoffs arrive.
Without doubt baseball is the slowest moving of all sports, unless you consider Chess a sport. Baseball fans will counter that with: "It's a thinking man's game"... and I agree with that.. it IS a thinking man's game.... but that doesn't speed it up.
Never the less.. I think it's a 'great game'. And I believe one of the most 'at peace', 'serene', 'therapeutic', mixed in with some fleeting moments of pure excitement, endeavors man can immerse himself in is found in the stands holding a Dog and a Beer with friends watching a baseball game. - JamesJM
