Boarding

is very popular with the younger crowd. In fact some mountains have separate runs for "boarders". I think the popularity began because it resembles skateboarding and surfing. I'm also told it is easier to manage but I don't know since I've never been on one of those things. The reason my grandson is into skiing is that his dad was on his college alpine race team and subsequently taught skiing in Utah. At his age Teddy is far better than his dad was at the same age. I should know having skied with his dad when he was growing up. The problem with competitive skiing is that as you get older and begin taking more risks you will most likely suffer serious knee injuries that will then result in painful arthritis for a lifetime. Much like I fear Gurley is facing.
