Most of the Mom & Pop places where I live are gone now...

a few remain... but very few. For the most part they have been replaced by "Taco Trucks". And they're pretty darned good... most of them anyway.

The photo is what was known as "Leona's Cafe". My home town's most popular Mom & Pop eatery. There were others... but this one was the most popular. Many of my 'elder' family members worked there... mostly as teens and during the summer.

Quick Leona Story... of no interest to you whatsoever. Her name was Leona Reno... she had a daughter, Janice. Janice was in my class... from Kindergarten thru High School. After High School Leona's family moved away... and I never saw them again.

About a month ago I got a message via 'classmates'... I hadn't visited 'classmates' in years but for some reason the message came thru... and it was from "Janice". She lives in Oregon now.
