The 'great show' did not come to be... however, there were many very large fireballs. And in fact... 3 of the best ones we saw took place before 10pm.
My daughter and youngest grandson made it until about 11:30pm... we saw many, some very good, but no where close to one a minute.
The large ones were good enough to keep me awake until 5am when I came in even though I realized about 2am a big show was not to be.
Saturn was great.... I didn't set up my telescope but used my binoculars instead.... very good view of Saturn.
This shower was VERY different than the others I've seen as there seemed to be no pattern. Most of the time they come out of the NE, with a few others all across the sky. Last night it was completely random... and not just the location in the sky but also the direction they were traveling. - JamesJM
