I was just speculating into what I thought were the most likely causes, considering what little I had heard..
Its possible he got stuck and the search and recovery team didn't tell all, or were under a gag order, or whatnot, as they might not have wanted to freak the parents out even more.. There's no telling.. he could have had a heart attack, or blacked out, or gotten lost for a bit, then found his way.. He probably should have been diving with a buddy, tho..
Also, I've never dove with a full face mask - and am not sure if he was, but have heard a lot about full face masks in this story and assumed he did - so am not sure of possible issues with them.. I think in an emergency, they would be more difficult to deal with.. For example, the Spare Air I mentioned.. with a normal mask/regulator setup, you just spit out the regulator and cram in the Spare Air, clear it, and start breathing.. with a full face mask, I think you hafta remove the entire thing in order to cram the regulator part of the Spare Air in your mouth..
As you can tell, my caffeine has clearly kicked in and I'm babbling.. lol.. I do look forward to hearing more about this story to try and figure out what exactly happened to him...
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
