about the period where they've got the second barrel in him after he ran out of the first barrel and they're chasing him and Brody even smiles a little bit like he's finally having fun.. If that's the part, I think Spielberg was trying to give the audience a false sense of security - like "We got this" when they obviously didn't..
..but, I will say this: Just like I think the castaways would have gotten off the island had they killed Gilligan, everyone would have been fine had Quint not been involved.. I mean, he smashed the radio, blew out the bearings in the Orca etc.. Why didn't they go out in Hooper's badass boat? And what the hell happened to the fishing chair on deck after the first day? Sheesh, so many questions..
