I thought SURE Madera South was not only going to beat Bakersfield Christian but win Div IV over us, (Kerman), as well. They played a brutal schedule and IMHO had a more admirable W/L record considering that.
When I saw the final I was shocked... I didn't know anyone who followed Madera South so I couldn't ask but all I could think of was the Madera South had to have simply had 'one of those game' when they were off in every aspect of the game. BUT... would you say that was part of the problem?
Foothill gave us all we could handle... double over-time... and they did it with the 3pt'rs as well. I don't know basketball very well... so that this for what it's worth: We will NOT contest any 3 pt attempt, none... and it doesn't matter how good, or 'hot', their 3pt shooters are. Foothill and Bakersfield Christian played us tough because of 3's.
Now we won both.. so far be it from me to say our coach is screwing up... we just won Valley... but GEEZ it's hard to sit in the stands and watch our guys back off giving them all day to set up and sink 3pointer after 3 pointer.
