The CIF did a recent study I read that the data showed a significant drop in the last 2 yrs of high school football participants in standard 11 man teams. However, an increase of participants in 8 man teams. The largest increase in high school sport participation was LaCross and Soccer. I just read the study but somehow can't copy and insert it here. That may be due to more female participants in those last two sports.
