I got to see Wonder Woman ... and like the Hulk in the Marvel ECU... this version of Wonder Woman is nothing like the 70s TV show lol
The story follows the comic version of the character closely as she is extremely powerful and a warrior
The movie itself has its dark moments which has been a complaint with the DC based movies (not by me but others) but balances that well with humor and yes a romance that is unexpectedly believable.
Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman... she is fantastic as is Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. The pacing of the movie is good as well and lacks the overly seriousness and brooding of last years Batman v Superman. This movie is 2hrs and 20mins long...but doesn't feel like it at all.
There are 3 acts in this movie - The Origin, Her coming out party against the German army, and a huge splash ending battle with Ares the God of war which was awesome.
What stood out and has been a bit of problem in the DC movies previously is you actually like Wonder Woman as a person. You are rooting for her. The way they have written Batman and Superman is so dark sometimes you forget that they are supposed to be heroes!!!
No such problem with Wonder Woman. She knows what her purpose and mission are and she won't stop until it is completed.
If you are a comics fan run to see this movie, if you are an action adventure fan...run to see this movie. Its loads of fun.
Great date movie too... the wifey and I went on Saturday evening after dinner and had a blast.
