I think the entire show is on HBO in a few weeks. A bearded David Letterman inducts Pearl Jam.
As for Yes, they do Roundabout and Owner of a Lonely Heart. I guess they are the hits.
The deal with REM is that they sounded EXACTLY like the album. And I think I went at the height of their popularity and I didn't like the direction they had turned musically... which was pop IMO. They must have played 30 songs and all of them were 3 minutes long. And I just simply didn't like their presence or something. But seeing them live was probably the last time I listened to them in a long time. I recently gave a few of their older songs a listen and I am reminded of why I liked them. Not wonderfully gifted musicians but solid songwriters and they work well together.
