I saw U2 as a support band

April 02, 2017 02:44PM
They were the reason I went, but the headliners weren't too shabby as they were The Police in their heyday of 1982 in Gateshead near Newcastle.

I've seen dozens of bands that few here will ever have heard of but were big in the punk movement and post punk movement.

Best band i ever saw live were The Buzzcocks, but The Jam were the ones I saw the most.

Even though they were the first band to go from outside the chart to #1 since The Beatles, they totally blew their US opportunity. Had numerous #1 singles in the UK but nothing much over here.
