I got called away when posting that so I just hit 'post' and fled.

In the park that day... (the day Zappa was going it solo).. there was also a 'poet'. To my knowledge the poet never made it big, or became famous, although he may have. I doubt it, however... because his entire poem that day... and it was a 'longie'.... probably half and hour or so... was about a bad habit he had of picking and eating the skin from his fingertips.

Wouldn't it be amazing if someone on this board, like Waterfield, jumped into this thread at this time and confessed, "That was ME".

Anyway... back to my point. Ya just don't get that quality of talent these days. I don't think... but then... I haven't been in that park since that summer, that I can recall. Did I ever tell the story of how 'LATER' that day we were hiding in a tall tree from a roving mounted policeman, (won't go into why), when my friend fell off the limb - - missing the policeman by inches? Neither policeman nor horse reacted much at all... a semi-curious glance back at the loud thud then both turned back forward and continued on their way. Twas strange in the park back then, I suspect. - JamesJM
