what an incredible once in lifetime artist

electric performer, virtuoso musician, unbelievable vocal range.... he did it all blues, rock, funk, r&b, alternative rock, new wave, jazz,... Had incredible bands just amazing

dude was a master of pop hooks... I remember in 1983 the first time I heard Prince play the song 1999 live. James I swear to you I said WTF

I had just never heard a musician combine pop, funk, r&b and wrap it up in such a catchy hook and the lyrics of the song... I mean how many artist were writing POP records about the apocalypse and return of Christ and make it a party anthem - This guy!

Prior to his death I had a chance to see Prince play in Baltimore in May 2015. He played in order to help the city recovery from the riots weeks earlier. Almost a year later he was dead. Huge regret that I did not go see him that night

Anyhow... I miss my eccentric friend.... I wish more people knew how talented this man was

I will add I've seen Earth Wind & Fire multiple times and that band was just sick .... loved them
